Partnerships

In the MECS area, OSU has established strong working relationships with a number of companies and the Catalyst Foundation of White Plains, New York; Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency(DARPA) of Arlington, Virginia; National Science Foundation(NSF) of Washington, DC; and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory(PNNL) in Richland, Washington. A sampling of the companies supporting individual projects at OSU include: Electro Scientific Industries, Portland, Oregon; Hewlett Packard Company (Corvallis, Oregon site); Tektronix Inc. of Wilsonville, Oregon; MicroHelix Labs, Inc., Portland, Oregon; and BioElectric Corp., Portland, Oregon. Additional partnerships are being sought.

An on-going, long term goal is to establish a consortium of research institutions and companies having a strong interest in developing the MECS area. Early establishment and entry into the consortium will provide opportunities to exploit this new and developing field.

Contact the MECS coordinator for general information on partnerships and the consortium, or for specific detailed information on a particular topic, contact the faculty member in the area of interest.
